About Us

Hi, I am Satarupa Patel, a microbiologist turned jewellery designer, yet the trait of admiring beautiful things was handed down to me by the women before me. While working for one of the top pharmaceutical company I realised something was amiss. So after leaving the comfort of a regular paycheck and familiar ground, I embarked on finding my call which lead to Peharr - a space to explore my artistic flare and love for traditional jewels.

Why Peharr?

Other than the fact that I truly believe that designing jewellery is my passion, I realised that in the jewellery space, most pieces are created by men and although I deeply admire their craft and sense, I really wished for a better women representation in the jewellery scenario since they are the majority consumers. This was another major contributing factor to creating Peharr.

Our Beginning

After leaving my job and a interlude of introspection, I finally enrolled myself in a jewellery designing course. After months of desiging and re-desiging a capsule collection, I finally launched it for my friends and family. A positive response then precipitated to launching this website that I like to call my 'labour of love'.

Currently, I work with karigars in Bengal, Jaipur and Ahemdabad, along with a few in-house karigars.
